Marilyn Holloway

I am married to Tony and I have two children aged 23 and 20 who were both dedicated at Streatham Baptist Church and attended Lewin Pre-School and Sunday School. Marriage, Motherhood, Family and Friendships have provided me with the insights of the real life up and downs of managing relationships.

I was Christened and Confirmed in the Church of England and then Baptised as an adult at SBC. I began attending SBC in 1998 and over that time, I have had a wide variety of roles serving the church in the form of serving in Children’s Church, Catering Team, Tea and Coffee Team, Women of Purpose Ministries, Life/Bible Studies Groups, Stewarding and I also led Alpha with Tony for a period.

In my professional life, I work as a Child and Family Care solicitor doing both Privately Funded and Legal Aided work. It is a fascinating area of law involving real people with real problems. I help couples move on from the despair of marital or relationship breakdown and navigate their way out of domestic violent relationships. In addition, I represent children and parents in Children Act Matters and as part of my job undertake regular DBS checks. My job involves a lot of hard work and dedication. It is frustrating but also rewarding.

My hobbies and interests are deepening my relationship with God, gardening, travelling, walking, music, and cooking when I am in the mood.
